Peak Performance is truly a unique book. It is the first book to look across a variety of domains, occupations, passions and athletics, and investigate both the top performers across a range of capabilities. Brad Stulberg, a former McKinsey and Co. consultant and writer and Steve Magness, a performance scientist and coach of Olympic athletes, have teamed up and discovered that a few common principles drive performance, regardless of the field or the task at hand.

No matter if an athlete is in the hunt for Olympic gold, or an artist is on the verge of an artistic masterpiece, many of the same practices can be seen in those at the top of their field. In Peak Performance, Stulberg and Magness demystify these practices and demonstrate how everyone can achieve their best.

The book combines the individual’s stories of top performers across a range of capabilities with the latest scientific insights into the cognitive and neurochemical factors that drive performance in all domains. By combining field work and research, Peak Performance proposes new links that hold promise as natural performance enhancers but have not been given proper recognition in performance training in the past. By doing so, the authors present reader with a life-changing tool to learn how to enhance their performance via myriad ways including: optimally alternating between periods of intense work and rest; priming the body and mind for enhanced productivity; and developing and harnessing the power of a self-transcending purpose.

In revealing the science of great performance and the stories of great performers across a wide range of capabilities, Peak Performance takes lessons from diverse fields and applies them universally to help coaches and readers alike to uncover the secrets of success and learn how to apply them. Learn how to take your game - whatever your “game” may be - to the next level through reading Peak Performance!
